As I looked through the phone book for a skip bin hire, I heard a car

As I looked through the phone book for a skip bin hire, I heard a car pull up in my driveway. The car was black, and four men got out. I immediately stopped what I was doing and went to go see what this was all about.

One of the men came up to me and said, "Mr. Glen?"

"Yes that's me." I said.

Suddenly all four of the men grabbed me at once. It was not the least bit comfortable at all. They shoved me inside the car and we started driving.

"What is this all about?" I asked.

The man who first spoke to me said, "We are taking you to a safe location. We have reason to believe someone wants to assassinate you."

I was stunned. Who would want to assassinate me? I wasn't a really important person. The only time I hadn't felt safe was right now, with these big scary men.

Then one of them said, "Hey we are going to pass by McDonald's, do you want anything?"

"No!" I yelled. "If my life is in danger like you say it is, why do you feel like it's safe to go and pass by McDonald's for some burgers!"

"We're really hungry," one of them said.

This was ridiculous. These people kidnap me saying I'm in danger of an assassination and now they are stopping for burgers? Unbelievable. Just my luck to get stuck with a couple of idiots like these.

They pulled up to the drive-through and the one who was driving said, "Yeah we'll have four cheeseburgers and-" But then something happened. The McDonald's employee pulled out a silver pistol from behind the register!

"Drive!" Shouted the man in the passenger seat.

The driver floored it and we were out of there, the employee shooting at the escaping car. I was not happy with this.

"This day just keeps getting better and better," I complained. "What are we doing now? Are we going to pass by the library for some picture books? Or maybe go to see a movie?"

"Oh be quiet," said the man in the seat next to me. "We're protecting you."

Then everyone in the car started laughing, except for me.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

The man in the passenger's seat turned around and pointed a gun straight at me.

"Well, it turns out we are the ones who are going to assassinate you," He said.

I guess the man at McDonald's had been trying to save me. I sighed. This was the worst day of my life. And it was going to be the last day of my life, too.
