Here in the United States young adults can take the school sponsored driver’s training course. The driving lessons cost used to be a free course. It has been changed in the last few years from a free course to one that the driving lessons costs are picked up by the trainee and/or parents or guardians.

In the United Kingdom the driving lessons cost depends on the kind of licenses the trainee wants toreceive. The auto or the manual driving lessons cost is different.

The DSA in the United Kingdom is the agency in charge of Department of Transports and sets the guidelines for the instructors and driving schools.

An instructor in the United Kingdom is validated and wears a badge with picture and a validation date. The trainee is responsible by to insure this instructor or school is fully credited with the dsa and that all of the laws are adhered to. The type of licenses and driving lessons cost is something the trainee should understand which one he is paying for as well. The manual course covers the auto portion of the study but not the other way around. If the trainee pays only for the auto, he or she will not be covered by law to drive a manual vehicle. The time it takes a trainee in the United States to take and pass the driver's training course covers both the manual and the automatic driving of a vehicle.

For instance, my children, all 6 were taught here at home to drive a manual after they finished the driving lessons at their schools. The differences in the transmissionswere something I thought they needed to understand. Most of themhad alreadydriven a tractor and the truck on the farm, which was an automatic, so it wasn't something new to them. I suspect most familieshere in the southgo through the motions to ensure their children understand the differences. The hauling of farm equipment and crops is something they have been around and doing since they were old enough to reach the pedals and be taught. Everyone on a farm has to do their share of the chores and it isn’t very long before they get their turn at learning to drive. Getting a license here in the United States can also afford a young driver a learner’s permit and subsequent license earlier than the legal age if the family can show probably cause of a hardship. Say there isn’t anyone else able to drive and the adult is disabled. The judge will usually allow a younger adult to receive the recommended training and get licenses to drive for the family. This kind of thing is not uncommon at all.
