Turning 17, everybody wants to learn to drive. I was one of them. I couldn't wait to get behind the wheel of a car and experience the freedom of going where I wanted and when I wanted instead of waiting for a bus all of the time.
I had enquired with driving school uk prior to my birthday and knew that was the course I wanted to go on. It was the only one that would guarantee a pass after two weeks, an intense crash course but it was quite a distance away from my home and I had to book into a bed and breakfast near by.
I had saved up and asked everybody for vouchers or cheques made out to driving school uk for my birthday. It wasn't the cheapest course but I wanted to pass quickly.
On the day of my birthday I rang driving school uk and booked the course, I was lucky as they had a cancellation and could fit me in the weekend after. So, my parents took me up to the bed and breakfast and I waited in the room for the morning after when the course would begin.
I arrived at the driving school uk so excited, not really thinking it would be hard. But, as you had two weeks to pass it was actually very intense. you were behind the wheel of a car for six hours a day spread out over the nine hour lessons and this was for five days a week, but if they felt you needed more, you would be there of a weekend as well. Still, it didn't deter me, i knew if I put my heart into it I could do it so I just concentrated as hard as I could.
Eight days into the course, I arrived to be told I would be doing my test. i couldn't believe it, i thought I would have had some notice but they felt that when people knew about the test they just got nervous so they never told anybody when they would be sitting their individual test until it was time to get into the car.
As I didn't have time to get nervous, I sailed through the test and passed easily. My parents came to pick me up to take me home but arrived in separate cars. They had bought me a new car to say well done and brought it up so I could drive it back.I love my parents.
